Digesil^® FS

Digesil^® FS is more than a solvent; its chemical action shears the silicone/oxygen bond, cutting fluorosilicones into random lengths and rendering it soluble. Digesil FS can be used to clean reactors, blenders, and filling equipment that is used to produce fluorosilicones, fluorosilicones sealants, and adhesives.  It dissolves fluorosilicone seals and gaskets.  Can also be used for cleaning injection molding equipment, reclaiming of rejects, in fact any area where fluorosilicones are used.

Application

Tank Application: Charge Digesil FS into a tank with a lid.  Suitable materials of construction are: stainless steel, mild steel, polypropylene, and for small amounts, glass. Immerse the parts to be processed in Digesil FS.  The digesting reaction starts after about 20 minutes of immersion.  The total immersion time depends on the thickness of the fluorosilicone layer, generally 12 hours is sufficient.  If the part can be moved in the solution or the solution agitated with a stirrer or pump, the immersion time can be dramatically reduced.  Remove and rinse with TRAMOS Cleaner.

Closed Systems: Fill with Digesil FS and leave for up to 12 hours.  It is best to keep the Digesil FS circulating if possible.  Drain and rinse with TRAMOS.

Thin Layers: Rub with a cloth or brush wetted with Digesil FS.  Rinse with TRAMOS.

Digesil FS is hazardous for shipment.  

It is available in 1-gallon, 4 x 1-gallon cases and 55-gallon drums.

First-aid Measures

Inhalation: Move the exposed person to fresh air at once.  Rinse nose and mouth with water.  Get prompt medical attention.

Eyes: Irrigate with water for at least 15 minutes.  Seek medical attention if irritation persists

Skin: Wash contaminated area with soap and water.  Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly.  Drink plenty of water.  Get medical attention.  Consult the MSDS for full Health and Safety information.
